"… From the need of sharing something we love. And after doing miles and miles attendance milongas and festivals in Portugal, Italy and of course Spain, another need rised, be a host.
We are sure that Tango doesn´t need us, because Tango on ist own is the principal one. Tango choose us and it decide who is in and who is out. Although it is essential to create meeting points for those people who love it, as we said before, feel the need to share it.
This is te reason why Emérita Tango was born, with the ilussion for getting that meeting point between Portugal and Spain.
The largest tangueros centres from the south of Portugal or Spain are quite close. But, as greaters tangueros, crossing miles don´t frighten us… you can also be close to the rest of Spain… and why not? The rest of the world…”
And here it is... EMERITA TANGO 6th edition !!!
Yes, it is already the 6th Edition. And after the nice aftertaste the previous one left us, we hope this will keep on growing...
Our motivation is always the same... "just tango" and nothing else.
You already know our proposal -dance, dance and dance. For that reason, music and YOU are the most important thing. That's why it will be played at all times by our wonderful TJs (Tango DJs) who always offer their different styles without giving us a break. Because in Emérita Tango you are the most important thing, and because if you come to dance, we want you to dance and dance.
More than 30 hours of music and 12-hour-long milongas, because even if we change the TJs, the music won’t stop.
But if you do want to stop, you can enjoy the beauty of the city of Mérida. Wander around it and discover one of the best monumental cities in Extremadura.
This year’s line-up:
It’s a privilege and an honor for us to have musicalizers as great as these ones...
We are pleased to welcome some TJs who are an essential part of the Emérita Tango's history, such as Antonio Rufo, who’ll bring us his style and expertise from day one.
We will have Paulo Bernardo from Lisbon. Dancer, tango teacher and a world-famous TJ. An important figure in Portugal tango history.
From Buenos Aires, Pepa Palazón, organizer and TJ from the milonga "Viva La Pepa" and creator of the tango interview series "Tengo una pregunta para vos".
Cristina Bortolin 'La Porteñita' is back with us. She’s an Argentinean settled in Orihuela (Alicante). who organized and musicalized the milonga ‘La Porteñita’ at Casa del Tango in Alicante (Spain) and organized the Oblivion milonga in Madrid.
We will also have again with Victoria Cruz, a young dancer and teacher with more than fifteen years of tango to her credit who, for some time now, has also been acting as a musicalizer.
And last but not least, Diego Rodríguez and Paca Fernández Rebella 'Patita', who will join the rest of the musicalizers to create an event where you and tango will be the main stars.
A special thank you to all the people who attended the previous editions, because their presence encourages us to carry on with our dream, our adventure. Hopefully they will be here once again.
And for those of you who haven't met us yet, we encourage you to share this wonderful experience with us, because as we keep saying, ‘You, tango... and you’ is the only thing that matters to us.

During the milongas you will be offered some refreshments to boost your energy (all by the organization’s expense).

You can’t miss this... !!
On Saturday, around 1:30 pm, an informal buffet will be served in the hall next to the milonga ballroom.
